LEARN WITH ACVN NURSE EDUCATOR:

Yvonne Funk

RVN, Cert IV VN, DipEqSc, TAA

Yvonne is a registered veterinary nurse with over 12 years of experience in the field. She started her nursing journey in South Africa as an equine nurse, where she quickly developed a deep passion for animal care, especially horses.

She spent three years living in Hong Kong, where she worked as the Nursing Director for three veterinary hospitals. That role gave her the opportunity to lead diverse teams, support junior nurses, and drive training and development initiatives, something she cares deeply about.
Helping nurses grow in confidence and skill is one of the most rewarding parts of her job. She loves mentoring, and is especially passionate about creating pathways for junior nurses to find their place in the profession which is how she ended up working for ACVN to embark that passion.

Her clinical interests include emergency and critical care, anaesthesia, and of course, anything to do with equine medicine. She is currently based in Thailand, where she is actively involved in the animal welfare sector, supporting the care and rehabilitation of stray dogs and cats. Traveling and experiencing different cultures has always been important to her, and she is grateful for the opportunities it brings to grow both personally and professionally while making a difference for animals around the world.
