Professional Development Course
NOTE: THIS IS A PRE-ORDER – COURSE WILL SHIP AND COMMENCE FROM FEB 2024.
AVNAT Registration Points: 5
Non-Accredited
Focusing on the comprehensive care of rabbits and rodents, this short course will equip you with confidence. From understanding diverse breeds, anatomy, to mastering husbandry and nutrition, this program covers it all. Delve into practical skills for handling, restraint, and recognising behaviour patterns.
The course takes a deep dive into rabbit-specific nursing, including anaesthesia, analgesia, disease management, and emergency care. Enhance your expertise in small animal care with our focused short course, preparing you to excel in clinical situations and improve patient outcomes. Whilst this section is very veterinary clinic focused, students that are not in a clinic will find this information very transferable to assisting them in wildlife shelters and caring roles as well.
Please note: Students undertaking this short course should have at least a Certificate IV level of knowledge under their belt. Not qualified? That’s ok, you can still enrol, just be aware that the content is written presuming you have the same skill and knowledge of a qualified veterinary nurse. Owners and carers may also find this information very useful for when they have to take their rabbit or foster in for treatment.
The Australian Veterinary Nurse and Technician (AVNAT) Regulatory Council has allocated 5 AVNAT CPD points to this continuing education activity.
